Hello, I’m Shiba Inu, I don’t think we’ve met. I’m a beautiful dog and a wonderful pet. Hunting wild game is how my life began. High in the
mountains of my homeland, Japan. My instincts are strong and if it runs I’ll give chase. A leash when we’re out will prevent a foot race. I’m not a
large dog nor am I small. I stand between 14 and 17 inches tall. My weight is 17lbs for the girls and 23lbs for boys. We don’t bark a lot but we
make a strange noise. An unusual characteristic or so it might seem. Excited or angered we tend to scream. My hair coat is thick, I am double
coated. Brushing is a requirement that should be noted. I’m a particular pooch, I like to stay clean. Licking my fur is simply routine. Loving and
loyal with my family I’ll be. I’m reserved around strangers, respect is the key. Independent am I and intelligent too. I’m easy to housebreak, a fact
that is true. Alert and agile, my senses are keen. I’m a sound and I’m hardy and could live to 16. Be mindful of my eyes, my knees and my hips.
There are foods out there that shouldn't cross my lips. Epilepsy’s on our health watch list. That bout’ says it all, there’s nothing I’ve missed. Except
for one thing, I’m very unique. I’m kind of a cat-like dog, so to speak.
